Introduction to preaching course

A five-session course for people who'd like to explore the possibility of preaching at church.

We'd love to raise up new preachers here at Christ Church, as well as looking to encourage those who already engage in this vital ministry. We're delighted that our Diocese is putting on a training course around preaching, and want to encourage you to go along if you feel you might be called to preach. You can find out more, and sign up for the course, here. If you're potentially interested in this fantastic ministry, and would like to have a chat about it, please speak to Dom at church.

Each session runs from 9:30am-1pm. The first four are at the cathedral, and the final one is in Ipswich.
 The dates are: 22nd November 2025; 24th January 2026; 7th March 2026; 20th June 2026; 11th July 2026.

Planning your Visit

We're so glad to see you!

Happy people worshipping in the church

We meet together every Sunday morning at 10:30am, and we'd love to welcome you.

What should I expect?
A warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere, great music, and cake! Our services include singing, praying, words from the Bible, and teaching about how to follow Jesus. There's normally a chance to be prayed for during or after the services, too, if there's something specific you're concerned about. Don't worry, though - we won't ask you to do or say anything you don't want to, and there's no pressure on anyone.
Our services are live-streamed on YouTube, and you can view previous ones here, to give you a better idea of what goes on.

What about my children?
Children are welcome here. Most weeks there are groups and activities for ages 0 - 17, or they can stay in the main worship area if they'd prefer. There's more information here!

Is the building accessible?
Yes. We have wheelchair access, disabled toilets, and a hearing loop. It's a modern and comfortable space, and you can sit at the back if you want - especially if you're new and not sure how things go.

What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in - there's no dress code.
