Living the Cross

Living the Cross
This sermon series ran from 12th April - 31st May 2026.

Following Easter, this series explores what it means to be followers of Jesus. His death and resurrection form the basis of our hope and our life together. In the light of what he has done, how should we live as his disciples? What does the cross really mean for us today, and how should the church community be formed by Jesus's death and resurrection?

Watch the talks here:

Living the cross: People of Life
Speaker: Peter Livey
In the first sermon of the series, Peter explores what it means to be people who have their whole life residing in the cross of Christ.
Living the cross: People of Grace
Speaker: Dom Turner
In this sermon we explore what it means to be saved by the grace of God. In Christ we have life, freedom, and hope.
Living the cross: People of Love
Speaker: Dom Turner
What defines you? In John's first letter, he talks about three marks of the Christian faith: the confession of Christ; the possession of the Spirit; and the practice of love. In this talk we think about all three, but we focus down on the practice of love.
Living the cross: People of Service
Speaker: Dom Turner
On the cross, Jesus demonstrates deep service. He calls us to do the same: but how do we overcome the issues of ambition and resentment that plague the human heart?
Living the cross: People of Hope
Speaker: Dom Turner
We are called to run a marathon, not a sprint, and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. How can we live with hope in a world which so often encourages us to despair?
Living the Cross: People of Power
Speaker: Dom Turner
At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came and filled God's people, and birthed the Church. What did this mean then, and what does it mean for us today?
Living the Cross: People of God
Speaker: Liz Livey
Our series ends with an exploration of what it means to be the people of God, commissioned and sent by Christ. Do we allow God to disturb us, inspire our dreams, and do we dare to follow him?

Planning your Visit

New to church?

For most of us, life feels like a journey. Faith is a bit like a journey too, and coming along to church can be a really helpful way to get some guidance on the path. We'd love to meet you.

Why not just turn up on Sunday at 10.30am? You'll get a warm welcome. You don't need to wear anything special, or worry about feeling out of place. You won't be singled out, and you won't be asked to do anything you don't want to do. You can find out more about the services here.

We can't wait to meet you.
