Baptisms 

Baptism is a significant and joyful moment in our journey of faith. We love to baptise people here at Christ Church, and we hold regular baptism services throughout the year.

Baptism for adults and older children
Maybe you're a new believer, or maybe you've had a faith for a while but have never taken the step of baptism. Jesus calls all believers to be baptized (Mt 28:19), and here at Christ Church we'd love to help you into this next step of your Christian life.

We have a large heated baptismal pool at the front of the church for full immersion baptisms. If you'd prefer to be baptised in a traditional font, where just your head gets wet, we can do this too.

Christenings for little ones
The word 'christening' is just another word for 'baptism'. If you're thinking about having your child baptized, we'd love to explore this with you.

Thanksgiving services
We know that some parents find it really hard to make the baptism promises about following God, or coming to church. That's OK, and we don't want anyone to say things that they don't really mean.

It may be that a Thanksgiving service is a better option for you and your child: it's a celebration; an opportunity to say thank you to God for the miracle of new life; and a gentle way of committing your child into God's love and care, without having to make commitments which are uncomfortable for you. We'd love to chat with you about a thanksgiving service.

I've already been baptized, but...
Perhaps you were baptized as a child, and want to make the promises for yourself. Perhaps you were baptized a while ago, but your faith has changed and deepened since then. It may be that you want to reaffirm your baptism vows. We can absolutely explore this with you.
