Weddings

We love celebrating marriage here at Christ Church. If you're planning a wedding, or perhaps you've been married a while and want a blessing, we can help!

There's a really helpful website about Church of England weddings here.

Can I get married at Christ Church?
In order to marry in a Church of England church, you need what's called a Qualifying Connection. If you or your partner live in our parish (and you can check by entering your postcode into this website), and if neither of you has been married before, then you have that connection and can marry here.

Don't worry if you don't live here, though: there are lots of other ways in which you might already have a connection (and, if not, you can create one with us by coming along to worship). There's a full guide to qualifying connections on this page, or you can click here to get in touch with us and we can chat it through with you.

What if one of us has been married before?
A previous marriage doesn't necessarily mean you can't marry here. We will have a conversation with you about your story so far, and can explain all the options to you. Just get in touch through this page.

What about if I'm not baptized / Christened?
You don't need to be baptized / Christened to get married here.

What about if I'm not a Christian?
That's OK too, as long as you're happy that the service will be Christian in tone and meaning. We'll tailor it to you as much as possible!

What we offer

  • A joy-filled and memorable celebration for you and your family. Our experienced team will guide you through all the different aspects of your special service.
  • Fantastic musicians to play live music when you arrive, leave, and during the service if you'd like.
  • A modern building with light and airy space, a well-equipped kitchen, and accessible toilets for your guests' comfort.
  • Parking in our own car-park, or in the neighbouring pub and supermarket car-parks.
  • A warm welcome and our ongoing prayers.

Planning your Visit

New to church?

For most of us, life feels like a journey. Faith is a bit like a journey too, and coming along to church can be a really helpful way to get some guidance on the path. We'd love to meet you.

Why not just turn up on Sunday at 10.30am? You'll get a warm welcome. You don't need to wear anything special, or worry about feeling out of place. You won't be singled out, and you won't be asked to do anything you don't want to do. You can find out more about the services here.

We can't wait to meet you.
